Management.
The course serves the
needs of the Occupational Health and WSIB / Disability Management Specialists.
The essence of an Occupational Health Specialist is to be knowledgeable of
elements of occupational health and safety systems, current legislation and
WSIB/ disability management and to assist in providing a safe, healthy and profitable
workplace. Our goal is to impart fundamental information to individuals who are
entering the field of Occupational Health and Safety as well as individuals
wishing to refresh their skills while already functioning in the field and
looking to enhance their knowledge of disability management and helps them to
prepare for related professional examination. "The Essentials of Occupational Health Safety and Disability
Management" is held twice a year: a fall/ winter and a spring
session.
The spring course will begin Saturday January 28, 2012 and continues for 7 Saturdays,
ending March 17, 2012 (Jan.28, Feb.4, 11, 25 March 3, 10, 17, 2012). The course
is not held Saturday February 18, 2012, Family Day Holiday weekend. The winter
course will conclude four weeks before the CNA certification exams., The classes will be held from 9am to 4pm ( one hour for lunch) at the
Monte Carlo Inn - Oakville - 374 South Service Road East. The major
intersections would be the QEW and the Trafalgar exit.
The cost
is $1,250 + HST ($162.50) for a total of $1,412.50. This includes a professionally developed
course manual and reference materials which provide useful resources. Continuous
Learning (CL) Education hours are issued, which may be applied to the
certification process.
“The Essentials of Occupational Health, Safety and
Disability Management” is registered with the Ministry of Human Resources and
Social Development Canada. A tax receipt
is issued.

Occupational Health Care-A-Van Announces One Day Workshops In Hearing Conservation & Pulmonary Function Testing
McMaster Occupational Health and Environmental Health Program has discontinued offering workshops in Hearing Conservation and Pulmonary Function Testing.
Brian Verrall, the workshop director formerly from McMaster, will be holding workshops on a regular basis throughout the year in Ancaster, Ontario.
Future dates are as follows:
Audiometry
Date: Tuesday, May 15, 2012; Tuesday, October 2, 2012
Spirometry
Date: Wednesday, May 16, 2012; Wednesday, October 3, 2012
These workshops will be identical to the workshops previously offered at McMaster and each will last 8 hours from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
A certificate of attendance will be issued.
Cost of each workshop will be $325.00 plus applicable taxes
The fee will include handouts, parking, a light lunch and breaks.
Class sizes are limited. Classes may be cancelled two weeks prior to dates if insufficient interested is shown.
Private, one day, on site workshops can be arranged.
