How do I become an OHN?

If you are an RN registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario you can apply for any Occupational Health Nursing position. However, it would be to your benefit to have some educational courses behind you.

We suggest that you read through the following sections found from the drop-down menu bar under About Us tab; OHN Experience Levels, Disability Management, Program Management, Health & Wellness and Business Strategies to learn more about Occupational Health Nursing.

For programs that are offered via distance education you can find a list of colleges and universities on the Continuing Education and Events tab. Please contact each College or University of interest directly. You will also find other professional development programs under Courses including one that offers a comprehensive overview of the specialty (The Essentials Of Occupational Health, Safety and Disability Management).
