Program Management

Program Management involves the development and implementation of programs to address the health, safety and well-being of employees. OHNs use risk assessment tools, quality assurance tools and best practice models as well as an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to ensure the success and effectiveness of all programs.

OHNs Role

  • Conduct health and safety program needs assessments and/or audits
  • Provide gap analysis and/or make program recommendations
  • Perform / co-ordinate risk assessments (for example hazard analysis, exposure monitoring and medical surveillance)
  • Design and implement programs
  • Educate and train employers and employees to understand preventative measures and safe work practices
  • Share knowledge and expertise to improve employee health and safety
